Description

We’ll take you on America ‘s first subway from Boston Common to the hustle and bustle of Harvard Square in Cambridge on the “other side’ of the Charles River.

Highlights include:

  • Harvard Yard and Radcliff Yard
  • Brattle Street (“Tory Row”)
  • The ” Old Burial Place “
  • Longfellow’s Mansion
  • “The Square” itself – street entertainers, chess games, the “buzz”

Spend time at Harvard Square. Your experienced guide will escort you on the Red Line Subway to the hustle and bustle of Harvard Square, Cambridge, where we’ll listen to the street musicians and watch the chess matches in action. We’ll tour Harvard Yard, and check out Cambridge’s Old Burial Ground colonial cemetery. You will have the option of returning to Park Street with your guide or staying on in Harvard Square for dinner (perhaps The Border Café or John Harvard’s Brew House), or going into one of Harvard Square’s many entertainment spots (like Club Passim). Approximately two hours.
